Most of the time I get it trim with shorter back and side, and thin it off to get texture.
I was thinking to get it trim and cut it with a razor all over to add texture. Or just cut it with a razor all over to add texture.

if your looking for your hair to still have length:
Get your hair evend out and get it trimmed and thinned out, and add layers. The layers will add texture without over doing it. But make sure they are long subtle layers. And when you go to style it in the morning use a styling porduct that enhances the waves in your hair and controls frizz(never use gell).
But if you are looking for a short llook:
get your hair cut an average guys length and get it thinned out. I suggest using a styling product that gives your hair texture without adding crazy cuts to your hair.
Before resorting to an all over razor cut, you need to explore what is causing you problems with your hair. I suggest making a list. List the things you like about your hair, list what you don't like. Then you should find some hairstyles for men that are similar to your hair's amount of wave and texture. Call your stylist and ask for a style change consultation. This should free of charge. You should bring any pictures you want your stylist input on and they should be able to tell you rather a cut will work with your facial shape and hair. If you don't have a regular stylist, that could be part of the problem with your hair.
