A Good Haircut style For VERY long hair?

I have very long hair, lower then my middle back. I want to go to the hairdressers to get a new style cut, but I want to keep the length, could you have layers with this length of hair? could you include picture of a really good hair style with the same length that i have. Thanks.A Good Haircut style For VERY long hair?
If you have very long hair (mine is to my waist) there's really only two options to change the look: layers and bangs. No layers is very heavy and if you have lots of hair you can look like a 70's hippie. :)

If you do layers, then it's a question of how much layering, and also do you want bangs or not? Depending on what shape your face is, sometimes you can do long bangs that curl under your chin, but are still long enough that you can clip them back. Layers give your hair volume, and if you have heavy hair you won't give yourself a headache if you put it all in a ponytail.

Cosmopolitan magazine has a free ';makeover'; site that you can scan your picture into and try on different hairstyles: www.cosmopolitan.com/style/makeover/

No kind of cut will look particularly 'new' if you don't want to change the length. Be brave! Or compromise - what about a fringe?

a good hairstyle for you depends on the shape of your face
